The black and decker cmm1000 is a 19 inch 5 hp cordless and mulching mower which includes a rear bag.  Overall the majority of people who get this motor rank it 4 stars out of 5 on amazon reviews, so the mower itself is pretty decent.  It has a one lever height adjustment which many people find very useful, and no annoying cord.  Also there is no exhaust since it's battery powered, so it's much better for the environment and your health.  Because of the battery power the black and decker cmm1000 is also much quieter then the bulky gas powered mowers. 

The cmm1000 model is hassle free and requires no oil chanding or air filter adjustments.  The only real maintenance for the mower is that the blades must be kept sharp, and the battery should be replaced every 5 years.  Actually one annoying thing is that I wasn't able to find any instructions on how to change the batteries, but if you google online you can find it on their website. 

The biggest problems with the black and decker cmm1000 mower is that the mowing deck iis a bit tricky. The area on the side is very wide, but the blades don't go out as far as the edge so until you've used the mower a lot there is often little stips that you have to go back and mow later.  Another negative is that the mower is very heavy, too heavy for most kids probably, though it's not the heaviest.

The battery for the cmm1000 model is expensive to replace, about $130. You would be looking to get the cordless rechargeable mulching mower black and decker 905080-11 replaceable battery 24 volt which you can get from the blackanddecker.com shopping site or amazon.

If you already own a black and decker cmm1000 then you should be aware that there was a recall on certain models.  The cmm1000 models type 1 through type 4 were recalled because there is an electrical component that can overheat which is a fire hazard and can cause damage to the mower.  So if you have that model then stop using it and call black and decker - 1-800-229-5570, or you can find more contact info on the company website.
